Vive en bandadas y es terrícola, caminadora, aunque a veces planea a grandes alturas. Anida en acantilados o en árboles. Tiene un Pico negro, largo y curvo. Su cabeza, cuello y pecho son ocráceos; su corona es canela; el vientre, negro; el dorso, gris plateado y su iris y patas son rojos.

It lives in flocks and is earthbound, a walker, although it sometimes glides at great heights. It nests on cliffs or in trees. It has a long, curved, black beak. Its head, neck, and breast are ocher; its crown is cinnamon; the belly is black; the back is a silver gray and its irises and legs are red.

The Pied-billed Grebe (Podilymbus podiceps) measures about 27 centimeters and feeds on fish. It is lonely, silent and a diver. It nests among the thick coastal vegetation, such as reed beds. It is a compact bird, with a small grayish-brown body and a robust beak. Breeding adults have a white beak with a black ring around it. It differs from the other Black-faced Ibis by its short and thick beak and neck.
